Watched this morning for the first time and forgot to log. Yeah this is super charming and entertaining. Some great voice acting too. Feel like there was a lot of potential that wasn’t utilized but I guess if it had been it would have been a mess. I don’t know, it’s rare that I find just a simple and fun animated film nowadays that isn’t as corny and painful as ‘The Grinch’ or as deep and sad as ‘Coco’. This was fun. I liked this.

“You don’t know what it’s like to be rejected and treated like a criminal.” “Yes I do. That’s every day of my life.” Nothing and no one will change my opinion that this movie is about autism. (Although let’s not forget about Calhoun with PTSD). Both of our main characters, Ralph and Vanellope, are autistic. Of course, this is never mentioned, and Vanellope is given a made up disability instead. However it’s hard to ignore that her “glitch” and the way people treat her because of it is exactly similar to the experiences of autistic people (speaking as one myself). Apparently I had seen this before, but it never stuck. I think I always fell asleep when I watched it. The plot isn’t super memorable, but the characters are. I love the voice acting by Reilly and Silverman. They are super talented. Some nice minor casts too, Jane Lynch and Jack McBrayer. They captured glitches and the choppy movements of old video games which was pretty cool. I like that this movie focuses on friendship over love. It’s more about identity and finding a happy purpose. It’s cute. Not my favorite Disney movie, but I appreciate the original idea.

“I hereby decree that everyone who was ever mean to me shall be… executed.” I used to be so obsessed with this film as a kid. Coming back to it now, I’m not surprised this went platinum on my dvd player. Every element of this film is so ingeniously created, which is what I think made me so entranced as a kid. Loved the colours, specifically in Sugar Rush. Was also fun to see the inclusion of characters from video games I loved to play. I am yet to see the sequel to this, but I’m not sure if I’ll even bother.

- Synopsis
- Wreck-It Ralph is the 9-foot-tall, 643-pound villain of an arcade video game named Fix-It Felix Jr., in which the game's titular hero fixes buildings that Ralph destroys. Wanting to prove he can be a good guy and not just a villain, Ralph escapes his game and lands in Hero's Duty, a first-person shooter where he helps the game's hero battle against alien invaders. He later enters Sugar Rush, a kart racing game set on tracks made of candies, cookies and other sweets. There, Ralph meets Vanellope von Schweetz who has learned that her game is faced with a dire threat that could affect the entire arcade, and one that Ralph may have inadvertently started.
