E.T. is gay and here’s my evidence: 1) literally comes out of a closet dressed in drag 2) spaceship leaves rainbow trail in the sky 3) has magic powers e.g. can make u fly (only gays are that powerful)

100 The world, seen anew. Spielberg’s ultimate synthesis of familial dysfunction and the implications of healing, rooted in effortless confidence of craft, character, and emotion. Pavlovian in how it makes me sob. I see E.T. in that river and I’m done for.

This, for me, is a perfect movie. Perfect. Watching it as a kid at the time of release, I found it to be magical, fun and ‘nice’, but it didn’t have the thrill or pace of ‘Star Wars’ so it didn’t land that hard. But watching it now, as an adult, an adult well-versed in who Spielberg is, where he had come from, and what he was trying to say here, I just sobbed! Loneliness. Isolation. Not fitting in. The…

still such a good movie. this review gives a special shout out to the child actors, cos i forgot just how good they are in this. another shot out to the simple choice spielberg makes in having the bad guy be defined by the keys that jingle in his pocket. very nice. john williams remains the goat

“I love you E.T.” E.T. Spending his first few days on earth stuck in the house, in a dressing gown and drinking beers is so real. Life really got to poor E.T. in his first 48 hours. That final bike chase and ending always makes me cry thank you Spielberg.

Watched with the kids. Wonderful film. All of Spielberg’s themes, creativity, ingenuity, imagination, sentimentality, flaws, and that classic sense of awe and wonder are on full display here. Visually incredible, musically outstanding, and some of the blocking is awesome. Incredibly clever filmmaking, some really brilliant stylistic choices, and some slightly confusing characters.

This film, for all the hype that’s around it, was better than I was expecting and surprised me as well. Everyone knows this movie, the plot, and the characters just by the name. Usually, when this happens, the movie tends to be predictable and boring at some point. But this film surprised me in that there were a lot of parts that made me question what will happen. It’s nice to watch a movie this well known and be actively…

John Williams is firing on all cylinders this whole movie. So many great shots but I’ll shout out the shed scene with the corn and the moon in the back. A smaller scene that I also love is when Mike is the closet and sits in Ets spot. Truly no notes, perfect movie. Such an excellent cry at so many parts
