Hoop-Tober 2.0 Film #3 “I promised them women.” Quite possibly the most terrifying sentence I have ever heard in a film. And that is why I love horror movies like this — because the true horror lies not in what the monsters do to people, but in what normal people choose to do to each other. After all, the infection here is just that: a disease. It has no agency, no motive. But people do. They choose to deceive, to kill, to rape. And then they justify it. “This is what I’ve seen in the four weeks since infection: People killing people. Which is much what I saw in the four weeks before infection, and the four weeks before that, and before that, and as far back as I care to remember. People killing people. Which to my mind, puts us in a state of normality right now.” Well, you would know, fucker.

genuinely absurd to think that a movie this good can only ever be watched in the video quality resolution of an early Youtube video 💀

Too much naked Murphy other then that the camera quality was pretty bad as expected for an old film other then that lots of blood and jumpy scenes

Amazing cinematography just left and right. Plot was absolutely unreal which I can genuinely appreciate because zombie movies get really dull sometimes after the opening act, after all its hard to build off a premise thats mostly self explanatory. From all of that to the really well thought out casting suggestions you just get a good movie through and through. Honestly loved how much more reactive these zombies were compared to the traditional slow zombies u see in modern media.…

    1. How did the activists get into a high level laboratory which logically should be highly secure and mostly guard by the military? 2. Writing “HELP” would’ve been faster and more meaningful than “HELLO”. 3. With all the contaminated blood spraying around when they stab the zombies I’m surprised none of it got in their systems 4. “Human extinction” Is a bit of an overstatement, since the Rage virus only infects the UK, and not the rest of the world

Bold.

The unique choice of editing and the cinematography in this film will continue to just age gracefully, it evokes this sense of pure hopelessness and emptiness in a dreadful world and the depiction of the zombies as humanly and not some “other” incomprehensible species aswell is another great unique part of this film that helps to keep it so grounded in realism Impeccable writing in the military arc that lays the ugliness of men bare that even in the face…

Film de zombies très classique. Je trouve que le film a plutôt mal vieilli

Even though there were moments throughout this film where I had some problems with things like the acting, character writing, and certain plot points, this film overall has an atmosphere that is just too gritty, grungy, and rainy for me not to love… and if there’s one thing about me, it’s that I love me some movies that give me a gritty, grungy, rainy atmosphere… CK METER – 70% ✅

Full stop: This is not a zombie movie. Throughout this watch, I had to remind myself that they are infected, and not zombies. They never eat flesh, they infect. I’m going to be pedantic because there is a disparity there. Now, onto my opinion: What I think 28 Days Later does best and better than most movies of this type is that it explores the despair of a world where hope is death in a world that no longer has…

Ughhhh I love the idea of this so much, almost like if Covid instead of making us sick just turned us to bloodthirsty zombies, I just can’t get behind not making this movie scarier, it’s a thriller I understand but it needs to be scary, the idea is horrifying and they should’ve leaned into that.

I had come across this movie so many times before, but for some reason, i never wanted to watch it. Maybe because it’s an older cult film i dont know. I swear, the whole time i was watching, i was convinced Frank was going to die. But i never expected his death to be that sudden and honestly, that ridiculous. I was genuinely sad about it. I couldnt help putting myself in Hannah’s shoes “I promised them women” wtf? it…
