Awkwafina only has 15 minutes of screen time in this. How come Illumination’s the only studio that gets it?

Sometimes I just need a silly little bird movie in my life to bring me the joy I never knew I needed. This movie is just so charming and fun and it’s such a ride, I love it!

Every other studio is pushing the limits on what you can do with animation and going beyond what’s possible storytelling wise. Meanwhile Disney and Illumination are still making movies like we’re in the year 2011.

nice 🙂 feel like animated films get a bad rap unless they are visually revolutionary in some way but i support the middle class of animation and this is a solid entry! excited to tell my dad about this one, as he exclusively watches animated kids film and british murder mysteries. no shade to everybody in this because you all did a good job but i think it is time for us to find new voice actors!

life aint sunshine and rainbows lil’ quacka 🦆 am i asking too much of Illumination for them to do their road trip movie episodically instead of this brutally linear tail? [sic.] this film does not need this chef character to be a recurring villain, the familial conflict has more than enough to work with i know everyones been waiting for my trailerslop update in connection to duck à l’orange, but its not really a running gag in the film and is…

I thought this was a pretty fun film. I liked Mack, Pam, Dax and Gwen and how Mack is scared of leaving the pond while the rest of the family actually wants to see the world. The whole journey to Jamaica was really enjoyable, especially when they end up in New York, meet Chump and free Delroy from the restaurant. The duck farm part was good too and I liked seeing Dax become more confident and help everyone. There were some funny moments and I enjoyed it overall, just nothing amazing.

Migration’s road-trip story about an overprotective father duck stepping out of his comfort zone offers very little originality, feeling like a standard, forgettable animated trope. Compared to other animated movies like Moana, Frozen II, Soul, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, this movie relies on goofy, fast-paced slapstick, leaving some adult viewers like me feeling bored. Aside from the core family, many of the characters and side animals the ducks encounter along their journey come…

The animation is beautiful, and I really like the way it looks. But I love animated films as long as they’re relatable to all ages, when they can make us feel something, while also offering an exciting and entertaining story. Unfortunately this one feels a little too much for kids only.

Okay… let’s get this over with… I thought another rewatch was necessary cause I felt like maybe I was being unnecessarily harsh on this last time, so I decided to rewatch it on Prime Video, and while I don’t think this film is amazing, I now think it’s a perfectly fine kids movie, it still has its moments, like the family is still likable, there are still some funny moments (we Stan the Herons in this household), but I still…

“How many feathers am I holding up?” – The Worrying One, the main guy, – THS 4 Year (3/40): boxd.it/WHoM8 Migration is perfectly pleasant while it lasts, with colorful animation, a few solid laughs, and a likable family of ducks. But the story feels overly familiar, the characters are thin, and even the bigger set pieces lack much excitement. Harmless, cute, and completely fine, which is also about the strongest feeling it inspired in me.

Migration (2023) is an Illumination animated film you guys probably forgot about, but it’s actually quite enjoyable. The story follows a family of Mallards who try to convince their overprotective father to go on a migration from New England to Jamaica. The voice cast is pretty good. Kumail Nanjiani does a good job as Mack, this overprotective father, but I can tell he’s having fun voicing this role. Elizabeth Banks is good as Mack’s wife Pam who is quick-witted. The…

3,1 Sterne. Für kleine Scheißer sicher mehr.

Even though I was multitasking I was shocked that this movie was over when it was. It’s mostly forgettable and mediocre, but I’m giving it 4 stars for a tight 83 minutes(!!!) I do actually not mind the Illumination, appropriately overly bright aesthetic. Sure it’s a bit kidsy, but I’m just so for putting more light and color in movies. Migration. Four stars.
