I might end up in the minority here, but I think this was way better than the first one. This one has so much style and flare that the first one lacked, and made it so dull and forgettable. This one has a way more interesting story, better animation, and a lot more screaming Nic Cage which is always a plus. I’m genuinely surprised, I had a good time with this.

crappy script but the vis dev lighting and animation teams did well with what they had to work with 🥸 i liked the character designs of the wolf spiders and other wildlife and crops they had lots of potential to work with and just dropped the ball in terms of executing the plot. not a huge fan of how much more comedic relief moments get added in nowadays to make the film longer, pretty common in the media industry targeted for kids but i feel like things should take longer that are important not just filling in time with jokes to move the story along

Loved the first Croods movie but this was trash. Walked in prolly like 30mins into the movie and immediately hated it. The animation and style of the characters and their expressions were trash, their designs were so smoothed down that the characters turned into this generic looking style that youd see in a low budget show spin off, which i thought it was originally before i unfortunately realized that it was in fact the second Croods. The world was beautiful…

Rarely before I have felt so conflicted about a movie. My sentiments of love and hate clash each other violently. I commend this film’s ambition. Everyone gets their own dedicated conflicts, unlike the original where Grug, Eep and Guy were the only three relevant characters, the rest of the Croods being likable albeit unnecessary companions to the journey. While the film’s message is simple, that web of interwoven storylines allows is to be communicated in a way that feels multi-layered…

I did not expect to be THAT entertained, chuckle and replay so much of the animation while watching. It kept taking new and weird twists and turns. Im pleasantly surprised! The homo erotic ending caught me off guard… just when I though Grug was done with his character development, he turns gay. The granny lore was amazing, you can tell they had a lot of fun with this movie. Sadly didnt hit emotionally as the first one, but the creativity and fun gags compensates

I liked the first movie way more. The sequel was simple unnecessary. It also does this weird thing – and I swear that I’m not taking crazy pills – of retconning small details about the first movie. The baby already said her first words back then, we also saw bananas during the first movie, too! Welp, see you all in 2028-2030 to bank on nostalgia off the second Croods movie
