A quick note about Ouija, a horror movie for adolescents, where everything has been pared down. The teenagers are not sex-crazed boozers but wholesome, familial youngsters with their eye on college. There’s almost no gore and the violence is blink-and-you’ll-miss-it. All the characters move in slow-motion to ratchet up the suspense. It’s not about what they will find at the end of the hallway. It’s just about them going down the hallway. A group of teenagers use an ouija board to try and summon a friend who’s killed herself (the movie works hard to make this not seem ridiculous). During the seance they inadvertently unleash a malevolent spirit. In an age of iPhones and Facebook, the presence of the ouija…

“You were everything to her” 👻🔮🎲🏚️🪦🖤😵‍💫 One star for the movie itself and one star because this movie had to exist for Ouija: Origin of Evil to happen, which was actually fun😭 Rewatch and honestly… why did i do this to myself. I love horror movies in literally every form but man this was SO boring. It felt like the movie was allergic to doing anything remotely interesting. Making a movie about a Ouija board and somehow coming up with the most predictable “Ouija board movie” plot imaginable is actually impressive. Nothing new, nothing exciting, just the exact story you’d expect from the title. I forgot…

Absolute snoozefest. The most boring horror movie I’ve seen in a WHILE. The first two kills were halfway decent but that’s it. Why is it so quiet? Why did that one dude die over text? Why do those people store their bubble wrap in the pool? Lifeless dreck that I can’t believe made $100M.

Ouija is boring. It was indeed a terrible horror film. The worst part of it all is that it doesn’t even have that “so bad, it’s good” feels to recover itself from.
