There’s no way I can give this any kind of numerical rating. It transcends “good” or “bad.” It’s a deranged nightmarish vision committed to 100% by everyone involved. It should never have been made, but I’m so glad it was. One of the best times I had in a movie theater in 2019. I’ll probably never watch it again.

Okay listen. There’s so much to love about this movie. Have you ever seen a cast have too much chemistry? Well now I have. They were all so horny and the setting was so dark and dingy that at every moment I felt like I was at a really seedy strip club for furries. I really, really wish this worked for me as a Great Bad Movie Classic. But the thing is, if I want a version of Cats that drowns the viewer in camp and demands a complete surrender of dignity by its performers, I’ll just watch Cats. Cats (1998 y la producción original) tiene un único problema y es que carece de historia y desarrollo, pero la teatralidad, canto, coreografía, canto y el maquillaje son lo que la hacen una obra enteramente meritoria. Finally drank a tall glass of water and watched this with Mickey. Skimbleshanks always hits so hard because even a movie this bad couldn’t seep the joy of watching well executed tap dancing. I think it’s also just nice seeing something real (his non-CGI’d dancing feet and legs) after an hour of Digital Fur Technology™.

Rum Tum Tugger is a rotten little pervert and sinner. This is the best movie that’s ever been made, nothing has ever brought me the same sense of hysteria that Cats (2019) has. And I know the butthole cut exists, it’s out there, and they’re keeping it from us. Knowing that trump listens to this soundtrack on repeat only drives me further into madness. What I hate is that you can tell exactly who is a trained singer/dancer and who isn’t. Tom Hooper cannot direct a musical number to save his life, he makes some genuinely really good performances terrible because we cut about as much as an AI generated video. Taylor Swift writes an original song, does not sing it until the credits (where you realize even more that it’s just a bad Taylor Swift song) and poor Francesca Hayward. Poor Ian McKellan.…

I think everyone is being mean 🙁 I watched the special features and the director was so excited about the movie and then everyone was an unimaginative prude. I’m partial to practical costumes and affects so the cgi costuming was still kind of a bummer but I liked how the tails moved so… Was watching the behind the scenes and was happy to see they built sets but that also made me sad bc I think costumes would have fit…
