Good god, this was probably the most intentionally cringe and stressful film I’ve ever watched. Basically the whole thing was ROUGH, plus basically all the characters are insufferable people. Pattinson and Zendaya both do pretty good, and the commentary on America’s desensitisation to mass shootings was okay although kinda surface level. I did like the ending as well, it was nice to see them both attempt to move past the clusterfuck of drama that happened. I’d say it’s a fairly good and interesting watch imo, but definitely go into it expecting cringe and to be annoyed, lol.

At first, I was curious to see how the movie would play out because the trailer looked really promising—well, spoiler alert: the trailer was the only decent thing about it! The scenes were weirdly shot and acted. I really couldn’t stand watching Charlie; what a strange guy. I thought that if Zendaya was in it, it had to be good. Really enjoyed all the drama in the drama. I heard about the premis ahead of watching this, so I knew what to expect, but I I was pleasantly surprised by the storytelling and editing style. Without those directions, this could have been pretty average. I loved the decent into madness from Robert Pattinson and Zendaya does her thing, but she’s actually captivating in this role. Overall, I had a good time. I cringed away from the screen while laughing; that’s always a good sign.

I had to figure out in my head if this is the first movie ever that Rob Pattinson used his native English accent in. Everything about The Drama works for me except the primary conceit. The fallout from Emma’s confession was unrelatable and foreign to me. This might have been a 4.5 or 5 star for me if Emma’s great sin had warranted that reaction from her friends. Is there something I’m not getting? To me, her character doesn’t read like a psychopath, so her confession just plays as very sad (maybe a cry for help). What a torturous and isolating experience she must have had to be pushed to such horrible thoughts.

bem literal a vida real, não culpam quem fez, mas -por influência de quem fez-, culpam quem pensou em fazer e se arrependeu. deu vontade de bater nessa “amiga” pq o jeito que ela problematizou a situação da bixinha e não a dela mesma é exatamente o que acontece na realidade, alguem cancela o cancelamento plmds (aquela trilha sonora de flauta que sempre aparece nos momentos de tensão me pegou muito)
