“You are home.” The greatest films don’t even exist in any form of reality. The images conjured and the feelings emitted cause a magical occurrence, releasing dreams into their purest destinations and furthering the quest for collective empathy. Very few films, even among my favorites, can cause such a cathartic and almost “out-of-body” feeling within me, but Almost Famous never fails to make me see humanity and its massive intricacies so clearly. A beautiful, beautiful film.

“Rock stars have kidnapped my son.” Not just a highly entertaining movie, but a visceral, palpable experience. A movie that feels entirely authentic in spite of its larger-than-life characters. A real treat of a film that I can’t wait to see again.

It’s a good movie, I guess. Another one that sort of bounced off of me. I don’t particularly have an explanation for why I don’t care for it, just that it didn’t affect me. Hope it did something for you, though.

One of the best films that I have ever seen. The soundtrack is also top tier. This movie may or may not have contributed to my love for bellbottoms.

I’ve sat here trying to write a review for the past 20 minutes but I am genuinely speechless. I love absolutely everything about this film. Everything. Every single word said in this film inspires me to the core. It felt like I was in a whole other world while watching this.

“Famous people are just more fun!”

ROCKSTARS HAVE KIDNAPPED MY SON!!! As a rock fan i think this movie was what was missing in my life. I need to go on tour with a band in a van with pure chaos and endless music. And Russel, WHO IS THAT MAJESTIC MAN. This is exactly how i picture band tours to be like, and the soundtrack literally takes up half of my spotify. FAV MOVIE OF MINE CURRENTLY.

Always like anything with Phillip Seymour Hoffman in it. Great cast, i thought it was also very well written. Pretty cool that it’s semi-autobiographical as well. Very quotable film.

Review, bootleg version: I loved this movie already and wached the extended cut this evening. This bumped it up to a big five. If you loved this movie, watch the exteneded version. I was smiling the whole time, and when I had to pee and paused the movie I was just giggling of joy realising I had an hour left with this masterpiece

It’s all happening! This movie is wonderful. The cast is so deep with incredibly talented actors. I already wish I could forget it so I could watch it again for the first time. How could you not fall in love with Penny Lane? “The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you’re uncool.”

Came into this film completely blind with high expectations, and it absolutely delivered. It felt more like watching a film about Rockstars in the 70s than it did just actors playing the part. It reels you in as your watching these people from William’s eyes, and experiencing it with him. Kate Hudson delivered every emotion and raw feeling, her acting was A+ Everytime I wach a film set in this time period I’m jealous of the people that got to experience life in this decade

“The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you’re uncool” This movie is the most human film I’ve ever watched. The reality of trying to figure out what’s going on and who you are while the world moves around you at a pace you’ve never had to experience before is incredible. I could write an essay on everything I love about this movie. There’s so much conflict yet so much freedom. It…

❝ One day, you’ll be cool.❞ a estética dos anos 70 é belíssima e foi muito bem representada, deixando esse filme lindo. eu amo a kate hudson e acho que ela merecia muito o oscar de melhor atriz coadjuvante em 2001, esse provavelmente é o papel mais marcante da carreira dela. minha cena favorita, com certeza, é eles cantando “tiny dancer”, do elton john, no ônibus!!!!!!! mas não sei, acho que faltou algo, talvez eu tenha criado expectativas demais.

One of those films I’ve seen umpteen times, and as of a few years ago, started to provide diminishing returns. So, I was grateful to find that after some time away, the magic had returned. Two performances stood far above this time around. 1) Kate Hudson’s reaction upon learning of her apparent worth in a gross transaction. 2) PSH on his final call with Patrick Fugit, as he divulges the philosophy of the uncool. I think for many years we…

The first few times I watched Almost Famous, I think I approached it a little too casually. I liked it well enough, thought it was fine, and moved on. Coming back to it years later and actually giving it my full attention, I realized there was a damn good movie sitting there the entire time. On the surface, it’s a coming-of-age story about a teenage journalist getting swept up into the world of a touring rock band. But the deeper…

zooey deschanel the go-go dancer flight attendant that you are some of the acting is so baddd but also some really randomly funny scenes (the quiet bandmate thats giving kenny from southpark, the no more airplanes tour, the purple aura, ect.) obvi so satisfying for penny to be looking cute in her quaint kitchen and send russell to the wrong address but also i selfishly wanted a reunion!! i liked their love story just an overall enjoyable and comforting movie…

Recommended

I really liked this! It had been on my watchlist for years so I feel bad it stayed there for so long. But I started tearing up because of will and his mom’s relationship, she had reasons for the way she was but she also didn’t let that stop her kids from going after what they needed to do. inherently everyone just wanted to be loved, to be known, and to be understood. And isn’t that what we all want at the end of the day
