83/100 Zombie’s angriest – and best – endeavor yet, as he capitalizes and mushes his own brand of depraved, slimy violence into something interior in motive. Nothing is plainly for viscera, and spectacle is a haunted daydream. Each ax swing and chainsaw rip is the endpoint seen through terror, death, and loss. Zombie no longer cares about pleasure or titillation (that doesn’t mean he won’t give it to you, of course), showcasing brutalized, exploitative guts *after* the final breath whispers out of someone’s throat instead. Our heroes may be loud and foul-mouthed, but they’re genuine people, and their lives matter. Seeing blood splatter against the industrial pipes – a detail which seems endless in the Hellish landscape where the characters…

How can you compete with poetic lines such as “you can stick your fingers in your drippin’ twat and finish yourself off.” This man has such a way with words.

1976, somewhere on the flat countryside in the dry south of the US, a filthy, almost disgusting carnival group, contemporary music, overly vulgar language, Sheri Moon as a lascivious slut, and rotten hillbillys whose asshole stench you can literally smell through the screen.. and at some point it gets very uncomfortable. Welcome to a typical Rob Zombie movie.

In contention for the worst movie I have ever seen. Without a doubt the worst shaky cam I have ever seen. Seriously, this movie looked like it was filmed with someone juggling the camera. Instead of trailers, 2 Rob Zombie music videos were shown before the movie. I would have rather continued to watch Rob Zombie music videos for the next 90 minutes instead of this terrible movie.

Action!: Grinding With Rob Zombie After failing to direct his own version of “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” or “SAW”, Zombie merged the two films into a movie that served as an opportunity to showcase his Grindhouse skills. The result is a film that is disgusting in more ways than one, featuring despicable and loathsome characters that are impossible to like, both on the bad guys’ and good guys’ sides. The actors do not seek sympathy from anyone, but rather jump right in and embrace the filth. Of all of them, Richard Brake is the best of the lot as this ruthless and vicious hitman whose face is mostly made up of paint and blood. He exhibits the menacing side of his…

Daily Horror Scavenger Hunt – August 2018 4. a rob zombie film Not gonna lie, the first time I watched this I gave it 2 stars because I thought it had a couple of good parts but overall I was just meh about it, but this time I actually quite enjoyed it so that’s some real life character development for you huh. Maybe it’s because I’ve watched a couple of other RZ films lately and I’m starting to really dig his 70’s inspired sleaze aesthetic of maybe it’s because this is just a straight up, unashamed assault on the senses and I appreciate that straightforwardness, or maybe it’s because I’m just pretty damn drunk honestly who can say, but I…

robert zombie’s got me pining for richard linklater tbh it upsets me to think about this grown man sitting down in front of his computer to write a screnepláy and typing the words “stick your fingers in your dripping twat or gtfo” and thinking to himself ‘yes this is good these are good words to put in my Cool movie that’s very Cool please i am Cool like me I’M COOL.’ i’ve tried so hard to like rob zombie too and i dont even know why!! is it because he really likes horreur films? i guess that’s it?? i don’t know. i really don’t! every single time i watch a rob zombie movie i want to like it so bad,…

another rob zombert where everybody says shit like “welcome to murder school, toots: class? well its ex-fuckin-tremely in session! fuck-a-doodle-doo” but he forgot to make em funny munsters/spider baby psychos just dull & mean & graded digital teal with a boring trendy synth score. i liked malcolm mcdowell in his big powdered death race 2050 wig and the last 5 min after she made the arthur fist but.. nahh

It’s not a masterpiece of a movie, i know that, and it’s not a 4 stars movie either… not in the full sense of it, but it is a good blood fest movie. It was fun to watch and it gave me TCM × saw vibes. I didn’t expect to like it, but i was fixed to the screen, it’s probably not smth i would rewatch on my own again but definitely something for a fun horror movie night with some friends. Also, i did not think i would find attractive the creepy old woman from ravenswood (PLL)

Slop but Richard Brake gives it an extra star. I hate Rob Zombie’s writing so much.

I miss a lot of Rob’s jarring cuts and assorted footage ala House of 1000 Corpses but I still really enjoy this movie. Has a real temperament towards the cruel, and it starts off by exploding that in your face. Richard Brake acts his ass off in this, genuinely my favorite of Rob’s group of misfits. Some fun villains. I need to watch more 70’s horror exploration because the cruelty and visual choices are extremely my shit. Good fun movie. Malcolm being in this is so funny, guess he loves this type of shit too.

” And what I do, unfortunately for you, I do real well ” If that quote spat through the teeth of a bloody black and white smile by the unhinged Richard Brake ain’t Zombies middle finger to critics and laymen that can’t get on his redneck ravaging wavelength then I don’t know what it is, that whole opening scene has a real skunky and gnarly meta layer to it that I really dig, how whether or not you like his shit and…

does this film feel like it was written by a teenage boy hyper up on too many monster energy drinks after binge watching the entire saw franchise? yes. but is it fun and entertaining? also yes!!! i do not care what anyone says, practically every film on rob zombie’s filmography is a work of art. the theatrical makeup, the sadistically performative extravaganza hosted by a clandestine group of rococo-dressed lunatics watching their jesters kill to give themselves a kick, everything…

You just know Rob plays this game in his basement. Maybe a little self servicey, like we get it, you’re also a musician and a sadist. Wild in tone, this could’ve been really stupid so thank Gollum it was actually as cool as the first scene was claiming to be, if it wasn’t that would’ve been embarrassing, plus the entire cast was really going for it. Cool labyrinthic set location like a saw movie, but add a bunch of 2010’s…

I can’t get over the thrill from this movie? Every scene was intense till the end and it was one way to bring out every ounce of psychotic energy into a movie.

I have a soft spot for this movie. I like the gritty, hard-edged style—it’s raw, relentless, and unapologetic. Blood, splatter, cool sets, and good music… watch it in the original language.

the most rob zombie movie to ever exist. it feels like he was laughing the entire time writing this, knowing it was gonna piss off his haters to the max. this is rob zombie dialogue at it’s worst/best and sheri moon zombie is half naked the entire time. this insane cast of characters are hilarious to me and the introduction to them is so over the top and hysterical. the cult/secret society feel underdeveloped, but the film is also way…

24-Hour Movie Marathon Film #12 Love Zombie’s shaky, choppy, grindhouse style, but this lacks the refinement of ‘House of 1000 Corpses’. The dialogue here is terrible, there’s barely a story, and it’s one of the least interesting or unique survival game stories that I’ve seen, but if you’re a gore hound looking for a bad-time good-time, this scratches the itch.

a lotttt of unnecessary sex lmao, but i think its a good movie. sucks that my fav girl didn’t get much screentime before they killed her ass, i loved sex-head, her outfit soo fucking cool and i loved her voice so and she was just such a fun character LOLZ!!! the ending was frickin sick too
-

I really liked this because even tho at certain moments it feels very silly, the filthy atmosphere and the weird editing (as Rob always does) make this a very unique watch, it might not have the best story but I think if you know what you’re in for with this movie, you will enjoy it a lot! It’s a very Rob Zombie film

Program #31 (Movie #28) in my Beast of All Halloweens marathon. (Summer to early November. Movies, shorts, tv.) I guess, in my 13-someodd years on Letterboxd, I’ve written a lot of words about Rob Zombie. A lot of paragraphs. I think I was confident, at the time I wrote them, that I was able to understand him. And to communicate something about his filmmaking – like knowledge – that I had come to understand. What I believe I understand as…

Buon horror ingiustamente ignorato. Doom-head è davvero iconico con il suo discorso iniziale.

I think the techniques that rob zombie employs in this movie are a lot better than given credit for this isn’t house of 1000 corpses but he was trying harder than usual the set pieces are pretty well done the use of lighting is prolly some of his best and the acting actually isn’t half bad coming off terrifier the kills aren’t nearly as gnarly but this still went kinda hard idk sure the writing isn’t everybody’s cup of tea but it’s definitely his style I feel like you guys are just mean lol I liked this

Insanely grotesque, perverted, and evil film. Non stop blood and gore and bodily fluids, gelled together by a competent cast of people genuinely beating the bricks out of everyone they come across up until one of the most compelling slasher killers of all time comes and dismantles the whole thing. I love it.

I am admittedly a big Rob Zombie fan, his very unique and signature style has always stood out to me. But this film is the culmination of all the worst parts of Rob Zombie films. Reading the synopsis made me really excited, the premise sounds like it could be really good. But it ultimately fails to reach anything close to what I would’ve hoped. I mean there’s a Hispanic nazi midget speaking Spanish, dressed as Hitler…. You did read that…

Rob Zombie turns in an extremely mean and at times poorly executed Running Man type movie littered with sexual degeneracy, offensive humor and over the top gore and violence. Does it work? Well if you are a fan of Zombies work like I am there’s enough to like, but there are also a few moments that take you out, some of the hand held shots are hard to follow and the end isn’t great but what is great is the…

I understand why a lot of people don’t like this movie, but as someone who likes most of Rob Zombie’s stuff, I had a good time here. It is far from his best work don’t get me wrong, but there’s enough here to keep me entertained. Richard Break is a standout as Doomhead here, he really makes the film. Sheri moon Zombie being the final girl this time around is fun. Main gripes with this is the meh dialogue and…

Zombie likes to repeat motifs doesnt he? I mean beyond characters being vulgar, sexually violent white trash. Clowns, carnival aesthetic, gas stations, shitty hotels, old horror hosts, a sense of madhouse delirium. 31 is by far his laziest movie from a writing perspective; it has a script with ambitions so low you’d need a fracking team to reach them, but its the closest I’ve come to finding something relatable about what he’s trying to do: Dont bother with a story…

So the first time I saw this, back when it came out, I was disappointed. This was the first Rob Zombie movie to come out after i became a fan so I actually followed the production and all. I remember thinking it was too much on the violence and not enough on the quirks, your classic charismatic lunatic shtick from the Devil’s Rejects. I definitely thought it was his worst impulses, without the heart in it. I’ve really changed my…

i love sleazy rob zombie movies. 🖤 out of his entire filmography i think this is probably the worst i’ve seen so far, which is funny since i still enjoyed it a lot. at times i found the psychotic nazi clowns a bit silly, but by the end of the movie i was having fun.

This film is definitely one of my favorite horror films directed by Rob Zombie. It is basically about a traveling circus group gets kidnapped by the sadistic clowns and forced to play a game of survival called 31. It’s definitely a very interesting film fell with unique bloody kills and violence. There’s also tons of swearing and definitely an interesting watch .

REPEAT WATCHER MOVIES #222 31 Directed by Rob Zombie REVIEW BY JEROME ELSTON HILL JR. Rob Zombie is one of my top ten directors. The Devil’s Rejects was the first Rob Zombie film I watched, and I have enjoyed his work ever since. 31 was the most recent film of his that I watched, and it confirmed why his movies belong in my Repeat Watcher collection. 31 resembles true filmmaking—the use of cinematography, performance, sound, and post-production editing as an…

This movie is more about what happens when the human soul is stripped of everything civilized and left alone in a room with its own appetite. Rob Zombie throws you into a nightmare that feels less like a traditional horror film and more like being locked inside the rotten subconscious of America. There is no comforting morality here. No clean line between monster and victim. The walls are covered in blood because the world outside has already been stained; the…
